Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Copenhagen Technologies ("Public Predictions", "we", "us"), the business that operates the Public Predictions website at publicpredictions.markets (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Who we are
- Provider: Copenhagen Technologies (a sole proprietorship), Denmark
- CVR no.: 34832811

1. The Service
Public Predictions is a public scoreboard for predictions made by public figures. Readers clip a quote from a public source, editors turn it into a falsifiable claim with a deadline, and once the deadline passes the claim is judged right, wrong, or void in the open, with the evidence attached. The Service is editorial commentary. It is not a prediction market: nothing is bought, sold, wagered, or paid out, and no verdict is financial or legal advice. Features change over time; we may add, remove, or modify parts of the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account. The Service is not directed at children.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for everything that happens under it. We authenticate accounts by email sign-in links and through Sign in with X; your use of X is also subject to X's own terms. Tell us promptly at the email above if you suspect unauthorised use.
4. Your contributions
When you clip a quote, propose a claim, propose or contest a verdict, upvote, or reply, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and edit that contribution as part of the Service, including in feeds, snapshots, and shared images. Clipped quotes remain the words of the person who said them; you must only clip from sources that are publicly accessible, and you must quote accurately.
You must not:
- submit fabricated, altered, or misattributed quotes
- use the Service to harass, defame, or threaten anyone
- upload unlawful content or content that infringes someone else's rights
- interfere with the Service, scrape it at abusive volume, or try to bypass rate limits, editor review, or the resolution process
- create multiple accounts to influence upvotes, proposals, or contests
We may remove any contribution and suspend or close any account that breaks these rules.
5. Verdicts, forecasters, and corrections
Verdicts are editorial judgments made by the Service's editors according to the published resolution rules on the "How it works" page. Every verdict is provisional for a stated window during which anyone can contest it with evidence. Verdicts name real people about statements they made in public; we take that seriously.
If you are a named forecaster and believe a quote is inaccurate, taken out of context, or judged wrongly, contact us at the email above or use the contest mechanism. We will review it and publish a correction or a forecaster reply where warranted.
6. Snapshots and sources
The Service archives copies of source pages and evidence so verdicts stay checkable after the original disappears. Snapshots are kept for that purpose only. Rights holders who want an archived page removed can contact us at the email above.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, its design, and its editorial content are owned by us or our licensors. Quotes belong to their speakers and are reproduced under quotation and reporting exceptions. You may share and link to any public page on the Service.
8. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranty that the Service is error-free or uninterrupted, or that any claim, deadline, or verdict is correct or complete. Verdicts are opinion based on the cited evidence at the time of judgment.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or loss of profit, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to DKK 500. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms. Public contributions may remain on the Service, attributed to a deleted account, where they are part of a published record such as a verdict's evidence.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Service before they take effect; the "Last updated" date at the top tells you which version you are reading. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes are subject to the courts of Denmark, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer to bring a claim in your own country of residence. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
